4 Generations of Creativity

In the 1960's, GigiMa (Great Grandma) tailored hand-made Polynesian shirts for a local retailer in Papeete, Tahiti. She taught her daughter, Marie Sundquist, how to design unique clothes from scratch with brown paper, a pencil, a measuring tape, a pair of scissors, and an original Singer Treadle Sewing Machine.

In Hawaii in 1973, Marie received her professional seamstress degree and graduated top of her class, winning first prize for her dress patterns. Shortly after graduating, Marie utilized her talent to hand-craft jewelry. Marie has won several awards for her jewelry designs at discriminating fine art shows in Florida through the years. She combines the complex art of wire wrapping with colorful gems from around the world to produce stunning pieces.

Marie is currently mentoring a very talented young apprentice — her grand-daughter, Mei Lin. Mei Lin blends traditional styles with a contemporary flair for youthful spirits. She brings happiness to those who have an appreciation for something different and one of a kind. She is the inspiration behind... "Wear what you are... One of a Kind."
